My name is Pam Garrett

Currently, I am a teacher at Franklin High School in Portland, Oregon. I teach Language Arts and College and Career to freshman students. I also coordinate two school-wide programs-Link Crew and the Advanced Scholar Program. Link Crew is social peer mentoring program from Juniors and Seniors to freshman students. The Advanced Scholar Program helps students challenge themselves to get to college by taking 3 AP and 1 dual credit class or 4 AP classes. Students in the program get a staff mentor who helps them get to college. I also help with the open mic activities on campus and am one of the members of the poetry slam committee.

I enjoy reading and writing and playing my guitar in my spare time. I love live music and hanging out with my friends who also love live music. I also practice Bikram yoga regularly. Whenever I get a chance, I travel. I'm not sure where my next trip will be, but my last trip out of country was a visit to Iceland, and I have been all over the world in my travels. When I come home, there is always a wagging tail. Dog love.

My educational background is a degree in English from the University of Montevallo in Alabama. My Master's Degree is in education from University of Alabama in Birmingham. I have also taken many courses since then and attended conferences in teaching writing and using technology in the classroom. My classroom is mostly digital. Feel free to contact me:
